A 3 Part Practical Guide to YOUR Daily Missional Living

  • by

Before living in Hollywood, I lived in a different state that was definitely a different culture. In Texas, in the heart of the Bible Belt, the “buckle” is so tightly fastened around event driven programs that there is a deep longing for intentionality and a desire to learn how to be intentional.  Even though that desire is strong, there’s a lack of knowledge of how to get it in this culture.  Jesus offers a three part practical guide to your daily missional living:

     1. Be “with” others: “After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him (Luke 12:1)” One week after our Mobilize Ministries™ training began, I saw Ashtin in a coffee shop “being” with a guy named Michael who is in his 20s that has faced a lot of rejection.  It was awesome seeing Ashtin intentionally being with him- for hours. Normally, Michael gets overlooked but through Ashtin, Michael got to experience Jesus being with him.

     2. Being equipped to share the Good News right where they’re planted!  Just like Jesus invested in the twelve and sent them out, Missional Living Communities™ (MLCs™) are equipped to share the Good News of Jesus and the Kingdom. “When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick (Luke 12:1).”  Meagan went to a coffee tasting with a friend in order to share with her the Gospel.  Meagan, never being exposed to the Navs before, experienced it now in sharing the Gospel in a practical and vivid way!

3. Use Bible Study tools like the ABCDE method, IBDs and more.  Tessa had a quiet time and studied Acts 8:26-40.  Convicted she needed to be baptized, I had the blessing to baptize her in our back yard during our training meetings.  Our mission with Jesus jumped off from black and white to living color. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age Matthew 28:19-20).”
