Like never before since I have been following Jesus, I believe now, the hour we live in, is when Mobilize Ministries™ is needed the most. The Corona Virus has one way or another impacted our world, country, state, city and everyday lives. As disciples of Jesus, this is the time to be proactive as a light in a dark world. Jesus exclaims to you: “You are the light of the world..let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 14:14-16). Here are three ways to put faith to action in your missional life that will lead others to glorify Jesus.
- Do not Fear.
Here’s an action that clearly needs to be taken first. Consider God’s words of life. “Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” (Isaiah 41:10) [tweetable author=”@toddlollar”] God commands you to not fear. This is not a suggestion. [/tweetable] But notice, He couples this command with a promise. His promise is His presence, He is with you, in the midst of challenging circumstances. This powerful truth plunges you into a fearless missional life.
- Converse with God about what is going on.
Consider this question. If you have a thought to share about what is going on concerning the pandemic, are you quicker to post it on social media or talk to God about it? If it’s the first, I encourage you to talk to Jesus about what is happening in your heart and mind. He is the one that is powerful enough to do something about it. He’s the One who can comfort you. He is the One who heals. Thank Him for His healing power to be displayed throughout the world. God’s word breathes “…your healing will quickly appear..the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.” (Isaiah 58:8) Let Him minister to you. While He is doing this, He’ll give you compassion for others in your life. Now, It’s time to put your faith to action.
- Reach out and call someone.
Instead of turning Netflix on and scanning social media newsfeeds, pick up your phone and actually call or at least text a friend or family member. Engage people God has put in your life. In a disconnected world, people LONG for connection. God did not make us Lone Rangers. He made us for relationship. You can be the one that helps someone experience what God made them for: community. Converse the hope of Jesus. How does it feel knowing you can be the one giving someone hope? When you conversed with God, He carried your burden. Now pass it on. “Carry each other’s burdens.” (Galatians 6:2)
We are living in an unprecedented time in history. Hearts are filling with fear because it feels like circumstances of life are happening to them. [tweetable author=“@toddlollar”] As followers of Jesus who have free will, we not only have the responsibility to display God’s Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven through our actions of faith, but we get the blessing of doing this.
