My friend, Will and I enjoy coffee together at the same coffeehouse. Will and I were sitting together and our
friend, Daniel’s little five year-old niece, Zoe, as she was leaving the coffee shop, looked back at Will and me and shouted:
“They’re the same!”
My friend David saw us one day and said, “you two are dopplegangers!” Doppleganger is a fun science fiction term to describe two identical beings. How often do you think of God and Jesus and proclaim “they’re the same!”?
We get Jesus’ deity but do we really get that God’s all-encompassing character (in the Old AND New Testament) is the same as Jesus’? Consider this:
“He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God….” (Colossians 1:15)
They’re the same!

You know God, all powerful who made the universe? And you know Jesus who God embodied Himself as? “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
They’re the same!!!
And you know the Holy Spirit who Jesus left to live in you? “But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.” (John 14:26). The Holy Spirt is God’s representative…. The all-powerful God who made heaven and earth and the Holy Spirit who lives within YOU! They’re the same!!!
Your picture of God is everything! He is good!!! This is how Jesus represents the very nature of God: “And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high…” (Hebrews 1:3 NASB)
Jesus, God and the Holy Sprit…
